Rachel Daly, soprano, is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she has performed extensively in opera, theatre, and film. She has been heard most recently as Sandman and Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel and Little Red in Seymour Barab’s Little Red Riding Hood.
Additionally, Rachel has been featured in opera scenes as Marguerite in Faust, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, as well as serving as cover for the roles of Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica and Frasquita in Carmen.
Rachel has worked everywhere from the neighborhood barn playhouse to the Academy of Music. Her diverse experience in the arts has also included roles in musicals, comedies, dramas, and independent film. Rachel received accolades for her performance in The Curious Savage from STAGE Magazine, who noted her “sensitive personality” and “expert timing and just the right amount of inflection” in the role of Fairy May. In 2011 she was awarded Best Actress during the Philadelphia 24 Hour Film Race.
In addition to her work on stage, Rachel has also been fortunate to serve the arts community in a variety of roles as an administrator, stage director, and dresser.
